Tim Coffey began his musical career while still a young child in rural Kentucky, participating in the school music program of the Green County School System.  His first touring gig came while at the age of 14 where he was offered to play with The Joymakers, a Southern Gospel Quartet well-known all over the south-central United States.

After high school, Tim attended Eastern Kentucky University and while not majoring in music, he did perform in the Concert, Jazz, Symphonic, Marching and Percussion Ensembles.  He also gigged with numerous acts on and off campus.  It was during this time that he made the move to Bloomington, IN, to perform with the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps,  This made way for Tim to work with some of the world's most renown composers and educators such as Dennis DeLucia, Bob Dubinski, Pat Scollin, and others.

A move to Charlotte, NC, allowed him to play with many great musicians, including Jazz wonder James Strandboge, and The Inner Urge Jazz Quartet; pop/folk artist Rachel Garcia and Country Artist Michael Heape.  After the word got around Tim was asked to do many different types of sessions, from hand percussion to drum set; live and in the studio.

"I have been extremely fortunate, to have studied and performed with some of the premier talents in the world, including the opportunity to study with Dennis DeLucia and to perform with the World Champion Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps."  -Tim Coffey

And being a previous part owner of  Drums & Co. (a drum and percussion store), he got to meet and perform with some of the world's greatest artists, such as Walfredo Reyes, Jr., Rick Latham, Dennis Chambers, Victor Wooten, Larry Bright, Greg Bissonette, and more.  Tim also found time to perform regularly with the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra as a multi-percussionist while teaching privately at Drums & Co.

Today, Tim resides in Seattle and is currently spending most of his time with different groups including Everyday Jones, both live and in the studio.

"Playing with Everyday Jones is not only exciting but the music and lyrics are so good; it's nice to be legit!"

Tim also stays busy working with multiple studios in the area as an independent session artist and playing drums and percussion for female rock artist Patti-Anne Mathison.
